Buccaneer Bay
Dragon swoops in to breathe fire into Newquay's latest adventure!
With his talented crew, Duncan - TV celebrity turned bold buccaneer - created a visitor attraction fit for the 21st century in Cornwall's favourite seaside resort. This fascinating transformation features in the TV series Duncan Bannatyne's Seaside Rescue, first broadcast in April this year. Keep an eye out for repeats on Virgin 1 to see how this famous business guru breathed new life into one of Newquay's longest running attractions.
Discover the secrets of pirate life and be told tales, tall and true, as you are taken on an exciting journey through mystical coves and lanes of old Cornwall. Calico Jack, Captain of The Buccaneer, Scallywag his scurvy-ridden bosun or Anne Bonny, an infamous lady pirate, will introduce you to mythical creatures and legendary characters and will recount tantalising tales from Cornwall’s rich and turbulent past.
Smoke and visual effects have been installed in Buccaneer Bay, together with a much improved sound system and atmospheric lighting, but the most radical change in this exciting new experience is the introduction of role-playing Pirates and the creation of Cornwall's first SCARE attraction - the Sunken Village of the Damned.
Jason Karl of Atmosfear Scare Attractions was the designer chosen by Duncan to lead the remodelling and his vision to inject some PIRATITUDE was spot on. Few locals or holidaymakers will be able to resist the temptation to navigate the coves and lanes of old Cornwall with such a charismatic bunch of buccaneers.
This innovative interaction allows Buccaneer Bay to offer themed events and future adult Halloween Evenings will be to die for.
Arrr, be seein' ye dreckly for yer very own swashbucklin' adventure!
PLEASE NOTE: The custodians of Buccaneer Bay are committed to enhancing their visitors’ experience and have recently completely revamped the Sunken Village of the Damned. Now even the bravest souls will quake as they enter Davy Jones’ Locker on the quest for the accursed treasure. Scary scenes, heart-chilling sounds, atmospheric lighting and theatrical effects will test the boldest in the land.
Continual improvements are planned for our swashbucklin' adventure which may necessitate closing part or all of the attraction at short notice. Ahoy, me hearties, ye all be welcome at Buccaneer Bay where you will discover the secrets of pirate life and be told tales, TALL and true, as you navigate the mystical coves and lanes of old Cornwall. Calico Jack, Captain of The Buccaneer, Scallywag his scurvy-ridden bosun or Anne Bonny, an infamous lady pirate, will introduce you to mythical creatures and legendary characters from Cornwall’s rich and turbulent past.
Calico Jack’s Challenge - Can You Crack the Secret Code? When all are safely recorded, the letters should be re-arranged to discover the secret word. Who knows what booty may be exchanged for the correct answer!
